Ficner's Farm

Loretta Ficner

Everything that we grow is top grade, served right to you! Our farm is just about 50 acres located near the small town of Leipsic, out in the country, but still in reach, just two miles from Route 13 and the Cheswold light. We are open on the farm from Mid May through November with our strawberries in the early spring delicious mouth watering sweet corn in the summer through fall and then our huge heads of cauliflower, broccoli, and cabbage. We participate in four farmers' markets including Rehoboth Beach Farmers' Market, Historic Lewes Farmers' Market, Georgetown Farmers' Market, and Legislative Mall Farmers' Market in down town Dover.
At our farm you can find seasonable produce from mid spring to late fall! Get what you need for your vegetable desires.

Deep Grass Organic

Our gardens are the foundation for our business. We began over 25 years ago, modestly in our then large backyard, attempting to produce vigorous quality plants in our small greenhouse to place into our garden and enjoy. These plants provided us with nutritious food for our growing family and riots of beautiful color for our eyes. Shortly thereafter, we discovered organic gardening and came to embrace it as a philosophy and implement the systems into our planting space. From those humble beginnings, we experimented with cultural practices geared toward ecological balance.

We were surprised when friends and neighbors began to seek our plants. This began our journey which continues to this day.
